London, 28th April 2014 - Trend Micro UK made a bold commitment to energising its channel business today by announcing a three-fold increase in regional account managers (RAMs) and a doubling of its technical sales team, to help it better protect customers in three key areas: consumerisation, cyberthreats and cloud & datacentre.

More and more UK organisations are turning to Trend Micro for help as they struggle to contain online threats growing in volume and sophistication, and find traditional approaches to security no longer work given the proliferation of consumer technology and the dynamic nature of cloud and virtual environments.

These organisations are looking to a proven partner with a 25-year history of protecting businesses and whose products – including Deep Discovery, Deep Security and the Complete User Protection Suite – have been validated as industry-leading by the likes of IDC, Gartner and NSS Labs.

Answering that market need, Trend Micro is looking to increase its channel resources with a major expansion of its account manager and sales team.

“Each new RAM we recruit must be channel-focused, they have to have relationships with the right partners to help us take increasingly complex solutions to market together”, said Ross Baker, Sales & Channel Director for Trend Micro UK.

Expanding the technical sales team, meanwhile, will give Trend Micro the manpower and expertise to support these RAMs and, in turn, our channel partners.

“This initiative is all about giving the channel the help it needs – about Trend Micro doing the heavy lifting whilst benefitting in return by getting the scale and expertise required from our partners. With every deal Trend Micro generates, the company plans to bring in a partner and as a channel-focused company, we believe the expansion of our account management and technical team will help us seize more opportunities around our key areas of consumerisation, cyber threats and cloud & datacentre – all of which are security areas that are top of the agenda for enterprises at the moment.”

With the company’s APT-hunter tool Deep Discovery recently ranked number one at breach detection by NSS Labs Breach Detection System Comparative Analysis – outscoring products from rivals including FireEye, Fortinet, and Sourcefire – Trend Micro now plans to capitalise on this technical excellence to really scale up the business.

Today’s announcement will see Trend Micro leading from the front to ensure channel partners get the very best support in helping to bring our award winning solutions to an even wider customer base.
